Bus to the marathon site
My sister in law said that your club was amazing when they went to the NY marathon. Just wondering if we could connect to your bus /pay club to transport us? (2 of us - first time new yorkers)

The most important team race of the year is coming up soon! The Club Championship is always a great running experience, so don't miss it. It's the fastest, most competitive field of any open race in North America, and it's only $5 if you enter before Aug. 2. The field is so strong that it will carry you to a PR if you're in shape, and the overall field is the smallest of any NYRR race, so the start is very quick for everyone. It's the most inspiring race of the year, every year.
BRRC needs 10 men (5 over 40, and 3 over 50) and 5 women (3 over 40 and 3 over 50) to make a team, and because of the different start times, we should have separate men's and women's cars. The race starts at 102nd Street, and parking is tougher on Saturdays, so I'd suggest gathering at Circles by 6:15 am for men, 7:15 for women.
Please reply if you're running, and state 1) if you need a ride and/or 2) if you can drive, and how many other runners you can take.
We had a fairly weak turnout for Saturday's team race, so I hope that means that everyone has gotten their vacations out of the way and is available for the big race on Aug. 16.
Steve Bonal (917-238-9447) says he wants to revive our tradition of holding a softball game in Prospect Park late in the afternoon of the 16th, so if you'd like to play, let him know.
